In general, a wan is a device that provides internet access from one network to another, such as from your home network to the public internet. In this context, “wan killer” refers to software that allows you to securely enable access on your private network from the public Internet. For example, if you always use https when connected to your broadband connection, using SSL encryption for all of your web traffic like many companies do these days. First you need to download the Wan Killer SSL certificate from the Solarwinds website. This is a free SSL certificate with a valid serial number. You can receive it immediately after your purchase of the tool by entering your email address and clicking “send me my copy now!” 2. Open the Wan Killer and click “view” (on top toolbar) then click “import” and locate your Wan Killer cert that you just downloaded.
